Carlo Ancelotti has provided an update on Everton star James Rodriguez, with fans having expressed their concern about the Colombian playmaker.
The 29-year-old has not been available for the past few weeks due to a calf problem, his last appearance coming against Burnley on December 5.
The Toffees have actually managed very well without him, winning all four of the games he’s been absent for.

But it won’t be much longer until James is back in the picture, with Ancelotti providing some information today.
He said in his press conference (quoted by Sky Sports): “For James, we have to look day by day. Unfortunately, he’s not ready yet. It’s taking a little bit longer, so I hope that for the next game [against Rotherham], he will be ready.
That means he’ll miss the game against West Ham on New Year’s Day, but Richarlison will be available after complying with concussion protocols.
And Allan and Lucas Digne should both be returning near the end of January.
TBR’s View – James return will be welcome boost for Everton
Everton are in great form right now, but the return of James will be huge for Ancelotti.

He showed in the first month of the season how much quality he has and the creative qualities he brings.
The Toffees might have coped without him, but they are undoubtedly a better outfit with the £90,000-a-week star (Spotrac) in the starting XI.
