Championship club Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Carl Jenkinson from Arsenal on their official website.
The defender left the Gunners, who he supported as a boy, and signed a three-year contract at the City Ground, where he will be looking for regular football.
He told Forest’s website: “I’m looking forward to getting to the training ground and meeting the boys. It’s clear that the club has real ambition with the signings that have been made and we’ll give it a real go this year.
“It is a massive challenge but it is a league I’ve played in before so I know what it’s all about. The gaffer was one of the main reasons behind me wanting to come.”
But Jenkinson also took to Instagram to share a message following his departure from the Emirates Stadium and the emotion that he will holds for the club was clear.
It’s clear that it was a dream come true for him to play for Arsenal and the only reason he’s leaving is to try and find the regular football that has eluded him for years now.
He needs to be playing consistently because as it stands, the talent that he has is going to waste. His desire to represent the club was never in doubt and his parting message should further endear him to the supporters.
