Cardiff City completed the loan signing of Liverpool attacker Harry Wilson on Friday’s transfer deadline day – and some of their fans on Twitter were over the moon with the announcement.
Championship side Cardiff missed out on promotion last season in the play-offs and have had an average start to the new campaign with four points from the opening four league games, but they have just pulled off a marquee addition.
Neil Harris’ side have signed Wilson on a season-long loan deal from Premier League champions Liverpool and he’s now departed Anfield on loan for the fifth time in his career.
The 23-year-old is a left-footed winger that impressed last season in the top-flight with his spell at Bournemouth, but he’s now dropped down to the Championship once again for regular minutes.
His record in England’s second-tier is an eye-catching 22 goals in just 53 appearances and it would be no surprise if he makes a huge impact during the 2020/21 season with Cardiff.
He’s a 17-time capped Wales international that hasn’t quite been able to break into Jurgen Klopp’s competitive first-team squad, but they have kept him on the books for now and he’ll now be attempting to continue his development back in his homeland.
Here are some Cardiff supporters on social media discussing the Wilson transfer:
