Dominic Iorfa (Wolves)
After a summer of massive upheaval at Molineux, Dominic Iorfa has established himself as a key player under Walter Zenga. In addition, the Southend born defender has taken his club form forward to the England U-21’s, impressing in recent matches. Comfortable at right back or centre back, Iorfa represents a good option for mid table, or relegation fighting Premier League clubs.
The versatile defender has drawn many plaudits for his start to the season. Whether that be galloping up and down the right wing, or bringing the ball out from centre back, Iorfa has performed consistently. Very adept in the air, and also a very strong tackler, the versatile defender has the combination of defensive attributes, alongside being decisive in possession, that top defenders require in the modern game. In the future, Iorfa may find himself a better fit at centre half, as his positioning and reading of the game develops naturally with experience.
If Iorfa is to make the step up in the coming transfer window, questions will be asked over his discipline. The 21-year-old has been dismissed already this season, and he has a tendency to commit fouls on a regular basis. Despite worries over his discipline, Dominic Iorfa has the potential to be a future England defender, and if a Premier League manager is to gamble on him in the coming window, they will be suitably rewarded in the long run.
