A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have given their thoughts on the speculation linking Spurs with Gennaro Gattuso.

According to Rai Sport journalist Ciro Venerato, the 43-year-old is set to leave Napoli before the end of the month and is being eyed by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Tottenham, who are on the lookout for a new permanent manager in wake of Jose Mourinho’s sacking, have been linked with numerous coaches over the past few weeks.

Gattuso, a top midfield enforcer and serial winner during his playing days whose managerial career spans eight years, is one of the latest names linked with the Spurs dugout.

The Italian has managed at Sion, Palermo, OFI Crete, Pisa, AC Milan and Napoli, where he currently plies his trade.

However, Gattuso’s tenure at the San Paolo is rumoured to be coming to an end, and according to Venerato, Daniel Levy is eyeing the 2006 World Cup winner.

“Gattuso will not be the Napoli coach from Monday,” Venerato told Kiss Kiss Napoli, via CalcioNapoli24.

“The Napoli players have known for months that Rino will no longer be the Napoli coach.

“Lazio and Juventus are on Gattuso, but the news of the day is that Tottenham have put Gattuso on the list of candidates for the next coach.

“The English club have been dealing with Conte for a month, but now also like Gattuso.

“Tottenham president Daniel Levy has seen many Napoli matches and has watched Gattuso closely.

“He was impressed by the quality of the game and the quality of the ideas seeing the matches against Milan and Roma.”

Aside from managing two of Italy’s finest clubs, Gattuso also won his first trophy last year, lifting the Coppa Italia following a penalty shootout win over Juventus.

Milan legend Kaka has described his former teammate as a managerial “phenomenon”, but what have Spurs fans made of the links?
