Another Battle for Castle

Aleksandar Mitrovic’s last minute heroics in the tyne-wear derby may prove to be a decisive factor in Newcastle’s fight for survival as the draw against Sunderland could very well have brought about some new found hope and belief within the hearts of the Newcastle fans and players alike.

Newcastle fans expected their team to be marginally better going into this season considering the amount of money attributed to bringing in a wealth of new players.

But as things stand the Magpies are set to battle it out once again in a bid to retain their Premier League status.

Last season’s relegation scare certainty got Mike Ashley’s heart racing a bit as he sanctioned some pretty impressive signings in the summer in order to avoid being draw in into another ‘final day’  relegation battle as seen last season when Newcastle stayed up at Hull City’s expense.

Steve McLaren led them into another relegation battle this season but Rafa Benitez was brought in to keep Newcastle from going down.

The arrival of Benitez at St’ James’ Park certainly came as a shocker to the Premier League universe due to the fact that he’s more accustomed to handling the bigger sides.

Newcastle’s chances of survival are actually very high as opposed to the other teams being haunted by the prospect of relegation as the Magpies have the likes of Papiss Cisse, Ayoze Perez and Mitrovic In their Arsenal alongside the wits and experience of Rafa Benitez.

With the all important game against Sunderland out of the way, Newcastle will surely be keen on grabbing maximum points from their remaining fixtures.

Sunderland seem to be the best placed team to stay up, because they have a better attacking threat than the other sides and Sam Allardyce’s experience in these sort of situations will prove decisive in the end. The game against Norwich will be crucial.
