Can Dejan Lovren win back spot in Liverpool XI?

Liverpool have a hectic fixture schedule after the international break, where they will play 11 games between 24 November and 3 January.

The Merseyside club will have matches in both the Premier League and Champions League group stages, as they look to continue their hunt for silverware this campaign.

Manager Jurgen Klopp may need the full depth of his squad and it will be interesting to see if defender Dejan Lovren can regain his position in the starting XI.

The 29-year-old’s campaign has been disrupted by injuries so far and he’s made just four first-team appearances, but is available again and featured for Croatia in the win over Spain on Thursday night.

Lovren’s absence has seen Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dijk form a great partnership at centre-back, so can he break that up by forcing his way back into the XI.

Lovren had a brilliant World Cup with runners-up Croatia, but has divided opinion at Anfield at times and there are questions marks over this consistency.

He is sure to get some opportunity in the side during a busy run of games and it could take one stellar display to force his way back into Klopp’s team.

Gomez does have the versatility to switch over to right-back in the back four and Liverpool fans may see a number of defensive combinations in the next month.
