Can Cenk Tosun complete a surprise turnaround at Everton?

Cenk Tosun is still an Everton player as it stands on the penultimate day of the January transfer window, with it looking even more likely every minute that he will remain at Goodison Park for the second half of the season.

The 27-year-old centre-forward has struggled for minutes with the Toffees this season and there have been reports surfacing about a potential exit in January.

According to the Daily Mail, the Merseyside club are willing to listen to £20million offers for the Turkey international, which is £7million less than what they paid for him last year.

But the £27million Everton signing may stay where he is in the immediate future and it will be interesting to see if he can compete a stunning U-turn on his time at the club.

Tosun has scored just two goals in 20 games across all competitions this season, but has found regular minutes hard to come by.

He did get a rare start on Tuesday night in the 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town in the Premier League and it was his first league start since 5 December.

There has never been any doubt about the striker’s finishing and he can be deadly in the penalty area, but it’s other aspects of his game like his movement and link-up player that has been questioned.

It would be quite some story if he can become Everton’s first-choice striker and just needs a bit of luck to go his way to achieve it.
