Lewis Bate sent a hilarious message on Instagram on Monday night to Leeds United Under-23s teammate Sean McGurk mocking his strength.
Bate and McGurk are two new faces around Thorp Arch this season after they both joined in the summer.
Firstly, Leeds signed highly rated 18-year-old midfielder Bate from Chelsea. The left-footed teenager was a massive upcoming talent at Stamford Bridge, so prizing him away looks an excellent piece of business.
Secondly, the Yorkshire club also bought in attacking midfielder McGuk from Wigan Athletic. McGurk, 18, is a goalscoring talent who’s initially linked up with Mark Jackson’s Under-23 side at Leeds.
The Whites Under-23s were in action yesterday as they beat Crystal Palace 3-1 in their opening fixture of the Premier League 2 season.
Bate started the game in a more advanced midfield position. Meanwhile, teammate McGurk came off the bench at half time to score the final goal of the game.
In a post-match Instagram message, Bate delivered a funny jibe in response to new teammate McGurk. Neither are the biggest, but Bate said he can lift three times as much as his colleague in the gym. It’s great to see the two settling in.

Bate and McGurk two Leeds talents to watch out for
For Leeds’ Under-23s, they needed some fresh blood to improve them as a side after promotion last year. It looks like they’ve added two exciting talents.
Senior boss Marcelo Bielsa has shown he’s willing to give academy stars first-team minutes if they are good enough, so perhaps these two could make a debut for the main team before the season ends.
It’s now up to them to try nail down a starting position in Mark Jackson’s XI.
