Can Ben White continue impressive Leeds start against Borja Baston?

Leeds United have made an excellent start to the Championship season and there is no doubt enforcer Ben White has been one of the biggest success stories at Elland Road so far.

The 21-year-old defender has slotted into the backline seamlessly since joining in the summer on loan from Brighton and he’s filled the Pontus Jansson void.

He’s been a colossus centre-back that has performed brilliantly and also looks comfortable alongside captain Liam Cooper.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team have won four and drawn one in their opening five league games, which has helped them climb to the top of the table.

Swansea City are the only team that can match their points tally in the division and the pair clash on Saturday afternoon at Elland Road in the league.

It’s set to be the toughest Leeds game so far and it may also be a big obstacle for White to overcome.

White has been so composed in defence so far on the ball and in playing out from the back, while he’s a monster in the air and reads the game well.

But he’s set to have his toughest task at the weekend when he faces up against in-form striker Borja Baston.

Swansea have looked dynamite in attack at the beginning of the campaign and they have a major threat spearheading their attack.

Baston has had a tough time at the Liberty Stadium that has consisted of two loans spell away from the Swans, but he’s started the new campaign like a man possessed and is the top scorer in the Championship.

The Spanish centre-forward has five goals in five league games so far and is beginning to show why Swansea splashed out £15million (BBC) for him back in 2016.

He’s a real handful in the air so his battle against White will be fierce, while an in-form striker playing with confidence is always dangerous.

Leeds are going to have a big job on their hands keeping the Swansea frontman quiet and it will be an intriguing test for White, as he’s passed every other challenge so far with flying colours.
