Aston Villa host great rivals Birmingham on Sunday in the Championship, with the duo only separated in the league after 17 games by goal difference.

Villa manager Dean Smith would surely love three points in the Second City derby and is still trying to implement his style of play.

Albert Adomah is one of the players to get opportunities in the side since Smith’s mid-season appointment and is yet to repay the faith shown in him.

The 30-year-old attacker has struggled so far this campaign and is yet to score in any of his 16 games across all competitions.

He is a right-winger that has rapid speed and also technical ability, but is coming up short in the final third right now.

But the entire Villa team will surely be up for the Birmingham clash and it could be the perfect opportunity for Adomah to come to life for the first real time this season.

The Ghana international scored the opener against Birmingham during a 2-0 victory back in February last season, with a brilliant finish inside the penalty area that was driven into the net.

Adomah managed 15 goals across all competitions in the last campaign and may just need one to rediscover his confidence.
