Kevin Campbell has told AFTV that he expects both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette to leave Arsenal this summer – and is concerned over the future of Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Martinelli.

Aubameyang, who turns 31 in the summer, has been linked with Barcelona, PSG, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United of late. With his contract expiring in the summer of 2021, The Gunners could be set to wave goodbye to the Gabonese ace.

Meanwhile, France international Lacazette is also a player that could depart. The former Lyon star has been dropped by Mikel Arteta since the Spaniard replaced Unai Emery at The Emirates, with Eddie Nketiah being used more frequently.

Campbell reckons both Aubameyang and Lacazette – who has a contract until 2022 – could leave the club this summer and is also concerned that Martinelli may be tempted to leave, after a stunning start to life in England.

“I just don’t think Arsenal are in a position to keep [Aubameyang],” Campbell told AFTV. “I can’t see us being able to offer him anything like we think we could. I don’t think he’s going to be able to keep Aubameyang.

“You know what, I think Aubameyang and Lacazette are going to go. I think both of them will go. I’m a straight talker and I say it as I see it. I think Lacazette, the way Arteta wants to play, doesn’t really fit the system.

“We’ve got young players coming through, we’ve got Martinelli who could be coveted by some of the big boys as well,” Campbell added. “We don’t want that, we bought him for £6m-£8m and he’s already in double figures as a youngster, an 18-year-old kid.”

TBR’s view – If Aubameyang and Lacazette exit, Dembele must be signed

There is a strong chance that both could leave. Campbell has hit the nail on the head – Aubameyang has outgrown Arsenal while Lacazette simply does not work in Arteta’s style of play.

If both of them leave, though, a replacement is required and The Gunners should act on their reported interest in French striker Moussa Dembele. The ex-Celtic star has been in top form, and Arsenal must capitalise.
