Cameron Harper posts on Twitter as Celtic's B-team beat Rangers in Glasgow Cup

Cameron Harper has posted on Twitter after the Celtic youngster scored twice in his side’s 3-0 Glasgow Cup win against Rangers on Monday afternoon – and Celtic fans have responded to the attacker’s Tweet.

Harper, 19, strengthened his claims for a place in the first team with two of Celtic’s three goals – after an early Armstrong Oko-Flex strike had put the Celtic colts ahead. The win saw Celtic progress into the Glasgow Cup final.

Not only did United States-born Harper shine for Celtic’s B-team, but Mikey Johnston stepped up his recovery with 45 minutes for Tommy McIntyre’s side. Karamoko Dembele, Stephen Welsh and Luca Connell also played.

Harper posted on Twitter after scoring a brace, with the win progressing Celtic into the final – though they are yet to learn of their opponents. The match will be played on January 12 at Broadwood.

Harper is already knocking on the door of the first team and while he is yet to make his senior debut, the youngster did appear on the bench in Scottish Premiership wins over Dundee United and Motherwell back in August.

He also remained an unused substitute during the 2-1 defeat to Hungarian side Ferencvaros – but Celtic fans responded to his Tweet on Monday, hopeful that he is given the chance to shine in the first team soon.
