Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering cutting Cameron Carter-Vickers’ loan spell at Swansea City short.
According to the print edition of The Sun on Sunday via HITC Sport, Tottenham could recall Carter-Vickers and send him to Ipswich Town on loan instead.
Having started just six games for the Swans since his summer switch, Carter-Vickers will be frustrated with how his career is stalling.
Owing to the form of Joe Rodon and Mike van der Hoorn, Carter-Vickers is not getting as much game time as he would have hoped.
With just 11 outings to his name this season, the Essex-born defender’s time in South Wales could be prematurely ended to give him a fresh start elsewhere.
This is a similar situation to last season, where Spurs recalled the USA international from his loan stint at Sheffield United in January and sent him to Ipswich.

And if Carter-Vickers does return to Ipswich this month, this is surely his last chance to prove to Tottenham that he has a future with the club.
Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez all rotate in central defence under Mauricio Pochettino.
And given the rapid rise of Juan Foyth, Carter-Vickers is falling even further down the pecking order.
The 21-year-old’s time at Spurs is running out and he needs to use the second half of the season to prove his worth to Pochettino.
