Fulham’s tough start to the season continued yesterday. Cardiff City picked up a 4-2 win in the Welsh capital as the Cottagers defence capitulated.
Clearly, some performances were poor from the Fulham team. However, perhaps none worse than that of Calum Chambers.
Arsenal loaned the three-cap England international to Craven Cottage this summer to play regular football. He started at right-back in Wales and had a torrid afternoon. Josh Murphy tore the Arsenal loanee to shreds in the first 45 minutes and he was lucky not to be sent off for a cynical pull back.
Chambers was pulled off at half-time, apparently with an ankle injury. He would have been tugged either way, based on his display.

Arsenal signed Chambers in July 2014. As reported by The Telegraph, the Gunners paid £16 million for his services and they saw him as a long-term purchase for the future.
However, he has had his ups and downs during his time at The Emirates and spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Middlesbrough, suffering relegation.
After 24 games for Arsenal last season he signed a new deal until 2022, prior to being loaned to the West London side.
But based on this display, it is hard to see how Chambers is a future Arsenal first-teamer.
Without massive improvements in form, Arsenal might be seeking a permanent departure come the summer.
