Calum Chambers has taken to Instagram after making his return to competitive action on Tuesday by featuring for Arsenal’s under-21s in their Papa John’s Trophy clash against Gillingham.
Chambers is edging closer to a return to the first-team fold after being out for some time. As confirmed by the club’s official website, he sustained knee ligament damage in December.

He has been involved in training in recent times. But he has taken another step towards making a return to Mikel Arteta’s side this week.
The 25-year-old was named in the starting lineup for the Gunners’ youngsters. It proved to be a successful night at Gillingham.

After a 1-1 draw, Arsenal won 4-2 on penalties. And Chambers appears to have come through his 45 minutes of action unscathed as he took to social media following the game.
The defender sent out a simple message. It certainly gave the impression that he is aware that he has a little while to go before he is back up to speed…
It looks to be a significant step for Chambers. And he received messages of encouragement from a number of teammates in response.
