West Ham United lost 2-0 to Bournemouth yesterday. The big talk surrounding the game was the absence of Marko Arnautovic. With an apparent deal to China looming, Manuel Pellegrini left him at home.
Bournemouth took full advantage, especially a man who has been linked with replacing him.
Callum Wilson has been a long-term reported West Ham target. As reported by the Daily Mail earlier this month, Wilson is reportedly top of their wanted list if the Austrian goes, with a £35 million move touted. Manuel Pellegrini moved to deny such reports yesterday. But based on this display you would have to ask why.

Wilson was sensational and scored a scintillating goal to top off his display. If West Ham were to lose Arnautovic, Wilson would be the perfect man to replace him.
“He’s a very good striker but the rumours we want him are not true,”
“We have our players. We have Javier Hernandez, we have Lucas Perez, we have Andy Carroll, we have Marko Arnautovic in our squad. I’m happy with all these players.
“If we don’t have Arnautovic? Things can happen, when they happen we’ll see.”
It seems the troublesome forward will stay. As reported by The Telegraph, the unnamed Chinese club interested have withdrawn their £36 million offer. But reintegrating Arnautovic will now be a massive issue.
If West Ham do go on to sell him this year, Wilson proved yesterday that he should undoubtedly be their number one target to replace him.
