Aston Villa midfielder Callum O’Hare certainly had a tough summer. At the end of May he took part in the Hong Kong sevens tournament with other members of Aston Villa’s under-23 squad. The talented 20-year-old unfortunately suffered a knee ligament injury in the tournament and was ruled out for much of pre-season.
As reported by Birmingham Live, the youngster had been told he would be involved in the first-team this season, before the injury struck.
Aston Villa fans were gutted to hear about the injury. Many rate him as perhaps the club’s best talent in the under-23s and he could easily be the creative spark they appear to be missing so far this season.

But there is certainly good news for those who want to see him in the Aston Villa first-team. O’Hare is back playing for the under-23s and it appears missing pre-season has not had a big impact on his performances.
He has received rave reviews for his displays against Fulham and Middlesbrough recently. He scored the winner as captain in the 2-1 win over Boro in his most recent outing.
It will be a tough ask breaking into the Aston Villa first-team. However, based on his displays since returning from injury, O’Hare is not a player to write off easily.
