Everton take on Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend and Paul Merson has just made a crazy prediction about the fixture at Goodison Park.
Both the Toffees and the Red Devils have had a woeful campaign. Manchester United were viewed as title contenders at the start of the season, but they’re unlikely to even get into the top four now.
Everton, on the other hand, have had it a lot worse. Nobody would’ve expected to see the Merseysiders be involved in a relegation battle, but that’s exactly where they are and they could well go down.
The Toffees have won just three games in the league since the start of October last year. That’s abysmal form but Merson believes they’ll beat Manchester United tomorrow.
Paul Merson: Everton will beat Manchester United on Saturday
In his Premier League predictions column on Sportskeeda, the Englishman claimed that Everton will get relegated if they lose to Manchester United tomorrow. That’s why he thinks Frank Lampard’s men will pull a result out of the bag.
He wrote: “Everton’s next few games are absolutely atrocious and I think they’ll probably get relegated if they lose this one, as Burnley’s run-in looks a lot simpler on paper.
“After this game, they have Leicester twice, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal to play till the end of the campaign along with other teams.
“You can call me mad, but I can see the Toffees getting all three points here.”

TBR View:
A record of just three Premier League wins in over six months has left Everton fans with little to no hope about the future of their club.
Lampard is certainly an exciting appointment but he’s not a magician. It will take a while for him to fix the mess that Everton currently are in, but unfortunately for him, his side are in a position where he needs results ASAP.
Everton have been really poor but so have Manchester United. The Red Devils may not have a record as terrible as the Toffees, but they have looked very beatable this season.
If Lampard gets his tactics right, it’s not beyond Everton to get a win over Manchester United tomorrow.
