Marko Grujic impressed on loan at Hertha Berlin last season. And many Liverpool fans felt that he deserved a chance to impress in pre-season. There are vacancies in Liverpool’s squad and there is definitely room for one more midfielder.
But Jurgen Klopp has already made his decision. Liverpool’s official website has confirmed that Grujic will return to Germany for another loan spell next season.
Grujic has rejoined Hertha Berlin on a season-long loan after impressing in the Bundesliga. The 23-year-old will hope to replicate his form and convince Klopp he is ready for the 2020/21 season.

During the 2018/19 campaign, he played 23 times. The Serbia international’s playing time was limited by injury concerns but he produced some dominant displays when fit. He netted five times and caught the eye with some box-to-box midfield performances.
There was a feeling among some Liverpool fans that Grujic should have been given a chance in 2019/20. Liverpool need more strength in depth in midfield and Grujic could have been the answer.
Here are some tweets discussing the decision to let Grujic head out on loan to Hertha Berlin for another season.
