Newcastle United are the latest club to join the race to sign Burnley teenager Dwight McNeil, according to the Daily Star.
The 19-year-old has had a magnificent breakthrough season with the Clarets. His five assists and three goals look to have contributed towards Burnley’s survival.
The Magpies look set to target younger players to their squad this summer. McNeil obviously fits with that ethos and has emerged as a St James’ Park target.

The Daily Star claims that Arsenal, Everton and Manchester City have all sent scouts to watch the left-winger this season.
Sean Dyche tied McNeil to a new deal back in January which runs until 2023. That doesn’t look like deterring interested parties, however, although it will ensure the Clarets can demand a bigger fee.
TBR Verdict
McNeil is clearly set for a bright future in the game. His performances this season have shown maturity and quality way beyond his years.
The Rochdale-born winger has all the tricks and flicks to put defenders on the back foot and the interest comes as little surprise.

Newcastle is an interesting proposition as it will probably give him a decent chance to play more frequently.
Should he choose to sign for Everton or Arsenal who are also interested, he could find himself playing second fiddle.
One way or another, McNeil might be left with a decision to make this summer.
