Mikel Arteta sprung quite the surprise ahead of the clash. Oleksandr Zinchenko was sidelined with injury. But he still opted to leave Kieran Tierney on the bench.

It was a timely reminder from Tomiyasu of how good he can be.

He enjoyed a brilliant first season at the Emirates. However, injuries hurt him at various points. And that was also the reason why he had to bide his time at the start of this season.

In fairness, Ben White has been a revelation at right-back. But Tomiyasu showed what he will bring to the side when he gets his chance.

And Arsenal clearly have another brilliant option up their sleeve as they now, dare we say it, look to challenge for the title.
