Although Arsenal’s first-team weren’t in action yesterday, some of their young players were in action in the Football League.
One of those to show his quality was young star Charlie Patino, who’s currently on loan at Blackpool.
The 19-year-old midfielder put in a man-of-the-match performance for the Tangerines in their 4-2 win against Preston.
Patino scored a goal and provided an assist as Michael Appleton’s side won the West Lancashire derby.

Patino scored his second goal of the season after 68 minutes to put his side 2-1 up.
He powerfully cut across the ball with a strike from outside the box that arrowed into the bottom corner.
He assisted Blackpool’s third goal ten minutes later, dinking a cross into the box that was headed home by Jerry Yates.
Patino’s Arsenal teammate Bukayo Saka reacted to his fantastic performance after the match.
Arsenal’s number seven had a keen eye on his fellow academy graduate who is going from strength to strength in the Championship.
Saka reacts to Patino MOTM performance
Patino took to Instagram after the match to celebrate his side’s victory.
The England under-20 international quoted lyrics from the Blackpool fans song to him as the caption.
Saka reacted to Patino’s post, simply posting a fire emoji after another standout performance.

Patino could step up into the Arsenal first-team set-up next season as a central midfield option.
He’ll be hoping that Douglas Luiz’s new contract at Aston Villa means that deal is now off the table.
There’s always the possibility of Youri Tielemans arriving when his contract expires next summer.

Patino’s own contract situation doesn’t appear to be straightforward, and he’s attracting interest from elsewhere.
The young midfielder has been continually impressing temporary boss Michael Appleton while on loan.
He’s not the only Arsenal youngster Saka was following yesterday.
As well as Patino, Saka had a similar reaction to Arthur Okonkwo’s performance for Crewe Alexandra, where he saved a penalty.
