Bukayo Saka has posted on Instagram after it was confirmed that the Arsenal teenager had agreed a new contract with Mikel Arteta’s side – and the news has prompted plenty of reaction, including Ian Wright.

Saka, 18, has starred for Arsenal this season since breaking into the Gunners side under Unai Emery – and then improving further under the guidance of Arteta. Of his 37 Arsenal outings, 33 have come this season.

His form has been so impressive that Saka has laid on 10 assists in his 33 appearances and even found the back of the net on three occasions. All this, despite being used as a left-back and a winger.

Saka confirmed that he had put pen to paper on new terms, underlining his delight to remain at a club where he has been since he was just seven years old. The left-footer stated that London is his “home”, and Arsenal is his “team”.

Saka has been one of the Gunners’ best performers since football resumed, helping his side finally overcome Sheffield United in the FA Cup – and beat Southampton. He is expected to start against Norwich on Wednesday.

Ian Wright gave an instant reaction after the Gunners posted confirmation on Twitter that Saka had agreed a new deal with the north London club – posting a GIF that stated he was “so happy”.

Cedric Soares stated a new deal was “well deserved”.
