Despite being aged just 19, Arsenal teenager Bukayo Saka once again showed his value to his side on Tuesday night in the Premier League.

The attacker helped inspire the Gunners to a 3-1 away victory at St Mary’s against Southampton.

Southampton took an early lead through Stuart Armstrong in the third minute, but the visitors responded with goals from Nicolas Pepe, Saka and Alexandre Lacazette to earn a vital three points in the league.

Saka took his goal in cool fashion after going around the goalkeeper, plus he marked up an assist.

The England international was a real attacking threat all game in the right-winger position and he’s now chipped in with five goals and four assists so far this season in all competitions.

He shared his delight on Instagram after his match-winning display, which prompted a response from England and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho to “keep going”.

TBR’s View:

If Arsenal were to hand out their player of the year award midway through the season, Saka would be the clear winner.

The left-footed speedster is now beginning to contribute consistently in front of goal, but even before that he was the real driving force trying to provide a spark when they were massively struggling for form.

Mikel Arteta’s side have moved into the top half of the table as their strong league form continues and suddenly they are back in the race for the European positions, something which looked distant over a month ago.
