Arsenal qualified for the Europa League semi-finals thanks an emphatic win on Thursday night, with centre-forward Alexandre Lacazette at the heart of the result.
After a 1-1 scoreline in the first leg, the Gunners traveled to Czech Republic yesterday and thrashed Slavia Prague 4-0 in the away leg of the European quarter-final.
Lacazette, who scored a goal in each half, captained his team to a near-faultless away performance.
Nicolas Pepe and Bukayo Saka were also on the scoresheet during the rout.
French striker Lacazette kept his composure to slot in a penalty in the first half, and showed his class in the second period with a low driven left-footed finish from inside the box.
The 29-year-old hasn’t been recognised as one of the star performers under manager Mikel Arteta, but he’s the club’s top scorer this season with 17 goals now across all competitions.
His Instagram post-match post received a response from club teammate Saka saying “on fire”, as well as a message from loaned-out Everton winger Yannick Bolasie praising his “quality performance”.

TBR’s View:
With Lacazette’s contract expiring in 2022, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for him.
There is no denying that on his day he can be a fox in the box who adds some great experience to a young squad, but consistency has always been the issue with him.
His purple patch of goalscoring form has come at a vital part of the season for Arsenal, who need him to continue delivering the goods in front of goal.
