Stephen Craigan told BT Sport as co-commentator that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was fuming with Alfredo Morelos, despite Thursday’s win at Ibrox.
The Gers eased to a 2-0 win over Danish side Brondby at Ibrox, thanks to goals from Leon Balogun and Kemar Roofe. A crucial three points.
The win hands Rangers a chance of qualifying from the group – after losing their opening two matches to Lyon and Sparta Prague this season.
For Morelos, it was a tricky night. Coming into the match, the Colombia international had scored five goals in 15 – with criticism coming his way.
In search of his 100th club goal for Rangers – he was taken off on 70 minutes and replaced by Fashion Sakala. Craigan explained why Gerrard was angry.

Watching on as co-commentator at Ibrox, ex-Motherwell man Craigan said Gerrard was “aghast” with some of the things Morelos had done at Ibrox.
“Gerrard is aghast at some of the things Morelos has done tonight. I know he slipped, but Gerrard was furious, stormed back to his seat,” Craigan said.
Craigan on Gerrard, Morelos: Does Rangers star start at St. Mirren?
Morelos is going through a tricky period of form. He is struggling to rediscover his shooting boots that saw him score 29 goals in 2019-20.
But what Morelos is still doing, is dictating two centre-backs – and opening up gaps for his teammates. When Morelos plays, Rangers are better.
He brings the best out of his teammates. While he might not be scoring goals – his ability to open gaps makes him crucial for an away league game.
What is likely to be a low, defensive block – Morelos will be able to create space. He might even get on the end of a cross. He must start at Paisley.
