Leeds United youngster Bryce Hosannah could have left the club in January, according to the player’s father.
Roger Hosannah was discussing his son’s career to date with the Yorkshire Evening Post, detailing how he played against the likes of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson coming up in London and how he nearly headed to Holland.
He stated that there was a ‘firm offer’ in place for Hosannah to make a move to Scotland in January, but Victor Orta declined the move.
“I know there were some conversations (under-23 boss) Carlos Corberan had with more senior 23s players, Bryce included, regarding loans and Bryce had a number of approaches in January but Carlos had made it clear the club wanted him to stay.
“We tested the club, a Scottish Premier League team made a firm offer and Victor declined so his focus has just been on fighting for a place and trying to do his best for the 23s.”
Hosannah Sr even went on to suggest that playing under Carlos Corberan in the Leeds United under-23s and working with Marcelo Bielsa was still a better education for his boy then if he was to head out on loan elsewhere.
Which is a lot of faith for a father to put in Leeds United.

Leeds do appear to rate Hosannah, who has been in sensational form for the under-23s recently.
He was in the Leeds squad that travelled to Australia in the summer for the pre-season tour and Bielsa has had him around the first-team.
Unfortunately, he has some of Leeds’ best players ahead of him in the right-back pecking order, with Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas in fine form.
On top of that, last season was largely interrupted by injury troubles. Hosannah is contracted until 2021 at Thorp Arch and is working hard to prove himself a potential first-team player at Elland Road.
It seems that, in his old man, the Leeds talent has a strong guiding light for that path.
