Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil was very impressed with defender Pedro Porro against Barcelona last night.
The Spanish defender posted on his Arsenal after Tottenham’s final pre-season friendly of the summer.
After playing two friendlies in three days, Ange Postecoglou has had ample opportunities to decide on his best team before Sunday’s Premier League opener against Brentford.
There are several positions where the players pick themselves.
It would be a huge shock to see Tottenham not line up with a front four of James Maddison, Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane.
New signing Guglielmo Vicario also looks set to be Postecoglou’s number one for the upcoming season.

However, the full-back positions are far from decided just yet.
Antonio Conte built a squad where his wide defenders were expected to be wing-backs.
That means most of Postecoglou’s current options aren’t necessarily that well suited to his tactics.
However, Bryan Gil liked what he saw from Pedro Porro against Barcelona yesterday.
The 23-year-old impressed his teammate, but it wasn’t necessarily his best display in a Spurs shirt.
Gil impressed with Porro vs Barcelona
The defender posted on Instagram after the match and said: “Pre season finished, now we focus on the season ahead.”
Bryan Gil simply described his teammate as an: ‘Animal,’ while Sergio Reguilon poked fun at his teammate’s post by saying, ‘Wow English.’

It wasn’t the easiest game for Porro who would have been hoping to use yesterday to convince Postecoglou he should be his starting right-back.
Football London gave him a 3/10 for his performance and said: ‘A quiet game on the whole and he was nowhere near when Lewandowski scored early on, having been drawn across.
‘Another conceded goal in pre-season that’s come from his side of the box. Did have a low shot saved in the second half but was again caught on his heels for both late goals.’
Antonio Conte insisted Tottenham signed Porro in January and the club spent the entire month securing the £39m defender.
It looked like a sign that Spurs were keen to back Conte long-term even if the manager never made it clear that he wanted to extend his contract beyond the summer.

Tottenham have been forced to pay Porro’s transfer fee this summer despite knowing he’s unlikely to fit into Postecoglou’s system.
Injury ruled Gil out of facing Barcelona yesterday, but he may join Porro on the sidelines for Sunday’s match.
Emerson Royal must be confident he’ll be given the nod when they start their Premier League campaign against Brentford this weekend.
