Bryan Gil has confirmed he is in London ahead of Sunday’s clash between his new side Tottenham and Manchester City. The Spanish wonderkid has been at the Tokyo Olympics, playing for Spain. Now, he could even feature against Premier League champions Man City.
Gil, 20, joins Tottenham as the first signing under Fabio Paratici’s era. Starring for Eibar during a loan spell from Sevilla, the Spain silver-medal winner is one of his country’s best, young talents. Tottenham and Paratici have moved, bringing him to London.
Paratici killed two birds with one stone, by securing a player-plus-cash deal for Gil. Not only did he bring the Spanish star to Tottenham, spending little over £20million to nab his signature – but he also sorted the future of Erik Lamela in the deal. Lamela was in the final year of his contract at Spurs.
What has Tottenham newbie Gil posted on Instagram?
Daniel Levy and Paratici had to sell Lamela this summer, if they were to receive a fee for the Argentina international’s services. Instead, Paratici has used Lamela to lessen that transfer fee needed to pay for Gil. Now, the latter could be about to make his Tottenham debut.
Spurs take on Manchester City in their first Premier League outing on Sunday and The Athletic say Gil is an option. They say as he is double jabbed, and if he returns a negative test, he can play. He will join training and now Gil has confirmed on Instagram that he is in London.
