Spanish star Bryan Gil has posted a defiant 11-word message on Instagram after Tottenham suffered an embarrassing defeat to NS Mura in Slovenia.
Gil, 20, started for Tottenham. He was one of nine changes made by Antonio Conte – who kept Harry Kane and Japhet Tanganga in the starting line-up.
But it was a dismal performance and result for Spurs. Davinson Sanchez’s mistake and slip allowed Mura to open the scoring after just 11 minutes.
Ryan Sessegnon was sent off, and despite Harry Kane’s gorgeous chip, Mura scored an injury-time winner to put Tottenham’s ECL hopes into jeopardy.
Gil was one of the four players to go off after 54 minutes, along with Dele Alli, Joe Rodon and Matt Doherty. Spurs eventually lost 2-1 in Slovenia.
But just a few hours after the defeat, and having returned to Spurs, Gil posted a defiant message to fans ahead of Sunday’s clash at Burnley.
Gil Instagram post: Can Tottenham get back on track this weekend?
While Tottenham suffered defeat to Mura, Conte has still rested the majority of his players – other than striker Kane who played the entirety.
Even those that came on, only played little over 30 minutes. So, a trip to Burnley will see the majority of players completely fresh.
Kane also comes into the game having scored for Spurs with a delightgul little finish. He will be hoping to add to his one league goal this term.
Gil is likely to be on the bench but he could easily come on and make his first league appearance since Italian gaffer Conte took to the dugout.
