'Boss': Bruno Guimarães has just sent a message to Alan Shearer after another brilliant Newcastle display
Newcastle United midfielder, Bruno Guimarães, was the star of the show once again for the Magpies today as they saw off Norwich City in the Premier League.
Guimaraes has been outstanding in recent weeks after taking his chance in the middle of the park. After initially taking time to bed in following his arrival in January, the Brazilian is now looking like one of the very best midfielders in the entire league.
He scored yet another goal today, a well-taken effort which saw him dance into the area and dink the goalkeeper. And after impressing the onlooking Alan Shearer with the goal, Bruno sent a message to the Newcastle legend on Twitter in response.
Newcastle are now well on their way to finishing in the top half of the table. And given they were in relegation trouble when Eddie Howe took over, it is a remarkable turnaround for the Magpies.
Guimaraes, along with fellow Brazilian Joelinton, is proving to be quite the popular figure at the club. Indeed, if you’re impressing Alan Shearer, then you’re doing something right in the northeast.
TBR’s View: Can Newcastle Keep Hold Of Bruno Guimaraes, That Is The Question Now
It might sound ridiculous, but it’s a question Newcastle fans will genuinely be asking. Bruno is that good that you feel he can play for any team in the world.
Of course, he might well fancy being the key cog on which this new Newcastle team led by PIF is built. If that is the case, then Newcastle fans are in for a treat.
At around £40m, he’s already looking like an absolute bargain buy. Other clubs will be knocking on the door if it carries on, but Bruno does seem fully invested in the Newcastle way of life. Hopefully, for the Toon Army anyway, he stays put.
