Newcastle United have two fantastic Brazilian players on their books right now.
Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton are two of the Magpies’ most important players, and we’re sure the Toon Army wouldn’t mind seeing a few more Brazilians added to the squad in the near future.
Speaking on That’s Football, Bruno Guimaraes has been discussing which other Brazilian players he’d like to see at St James’ Park, and he says that he’d like to see West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta brought to Tyneside after spending time with the midfielder at Lyon.

Guimaraes wants Paqueta at Newcastle
Guimaraes spoke about the £51m man potentially coming to Newcastle.
“In terms of Brazilian teammates who aren’t at Newcastle, which one would you most like to join you?” Guimaraes was asked.
“Another Brazilian here? For me I played with him at Lyon it’s Lucas Paqueta he is one of my best friends, so I would say him,” Guimaraes said.
Imagine that midfield
It’s truly mouthwatering to imagine Guimaraes, Paqueta and Joelinton all playing in the same midfield.
It would be the perfect blend of power, energy, skill and precision, and it would be a joy to watch in the Premier League
All three players ought to already have a strong rapport with one another due to their Brazilian connection, and if the new Brazil manager, Dorival, has any sense about him, he’d use these three in the same team.
Of course, with FFP restrictions tight, we’re unlikely to see Paqueta join Newcastle this month, but this may be one to keep an eye on further down the line as Guimaraes is clearly a fan of the player and he’s already proven he’s talented enough to cut it at Premier League level.
This would be a fantastic signing for the Magpies, and Dan Ashworth could do a lot worse than listening to Guimaraes’ advice here.
