Manchester United visit Elland Road this weekend in what is sure to be a hostile environment for Ralf Rangnick’s men to compete in.
The Red Devils won in midweek against Brighton but are under pressure, with performances under Rangnick hardly inspiring the Old Trafford faithful. Luckily for United fans, they have enough talent in the ranks to win games with moments of individual quality helping.

One of those players with that quality is midfield star, Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese star scored late on in midweek and is looking forward to playing against Leeds this weekend. And speaking to Man United’s official website, Fernandes has been explaining what he knows about the Elland Road atmosphere already.
“Yeah, already last season, without fans, people were telling me about that. My team-mates were saying that this is a tough place to be as a Manchester United player but I like that kind of atmosphere,” Fernandes said.
“I like when everything is against you because it makes you give a little bit more and be a little bit better. You also know the fans will be there for you, to make them be proud of you and give something back to them because they will go there to support us, for sure.”
The Red Devils hammered Leeds last time out, winning 5-1 at Old Trafford. But with a packed Elland Road roaring them on, Marcelo Bielsa will hope for a much better outcome this time around.
TBR’s View: Elland Road Crowd Can Make A Difference
When Elland Road gets going, it’s one of the hottest grounds in the country in terms of atmosphere. And Leeds will need their fans to be right at it from the get-go this weekend.
It’s always a feisty affair against Manchester United anyway. But after the last home tie was behind closed doors, there should be an extra spice with this one.
Fernandes, as we know, will be key. But whether he thrives or shrinks under the West Yorkshire crowd, remains to be seen.
