Bruno Fernandes says West Ham have a player in their ranks who's 'top, top, top level'
West Ham United on-loan forward Jesse Lingard has been lauded by Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes.
The 28-year-old, who joined the Hammers at the start of the year, has been one of the Premier League success stories of 2021.
Lingard’s first 10 Premier League games for West Ham saw him register an incredible nine goals and four assists, helping David Moyes’ side remain in the hunt for a Champions League spot.
Fernandes, speaking to his club’s media team, believes the England international has “his swag back” and was the best player in the English top flight during his recent hot streak.
“If you see Jesse, I think Jesse, at the moment, if you watch the last 10 games, has been top, top, top level,” said Fernandes.
“For me, if you watch the last 10 games, he’s been the best player in the Premier League, scoring and assists in every game.
“Everyone here is really, really happy for him. He has confidence back, he has his swag back, because he is feeling confident. We are really, really happy for what he’s doing.”
Lingard’s loan stint at West Ham could hardly have gone any better, the attacker putting in some superb performances and building up an impressive goal and assist tally.
Although he’s not managed to get on the scoresheet for the past three games, the Hammers’ final three games of the season – Brighton, West Brom and Southampton – appear fairly winnable.
Hopefully Lingard can finish the season on a high and get West Ham over the line and into Europe.
