Rangers sold Matt Polster this week, allowing the American to leave Ibrox after just 10 appearances for the club.
Polster, although not a regular, was highly-rated at Ibrox and a report from The Daily Record suggested that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard did not want to sell him.
One of the men who was instrumental in luring Polster away from Glasgow was former US men’s national team boss Bruce Arena.

Arena is currently the head coach and sporting director of Polster’s new team, the New England Revolution.
Speaking to the club’s official website after securing the reported (Daily Record) £400,000 deal to lure Polster from Rangers, Arena was full of praise for the 27-year-old.
“We are pleased to have Matt join the Revolution. Matt is a talented player, very athletic, and technically sound. His experience in MLS and his ability to play in multiple positions makes him a great addition to our roster.”
Rangers fans never truly got to see the best of Polster and many will undoubtedly feel disappointed that was the case.
The versatile star, who has one cap for the USMNT, is now clearly hoping for more regular football at his new club and it seems as though the hierarchy are happy to have gotten a hold of their man.
Rangers fans and Steven Gerrard will just be hoping they don’t live to regret this Ibrox exit.
