‘Broken down’: Arsenal legend Martin Keown takes aim at Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa

Former Arsenal defender and now pundit, Martin Keown, has claimed that Leeds players should be questioning Marcelo Bielsa after recent results.

The Whites have conceded four goals in the last two games against Leicester and Crystal Palace, and now face Arsenal this coming weekend looking to stop the rot.

But Keown believes there’re problems within the camp at Elland Road. And speaking on Talksport (via TeamTalk), he believes Bielsa needs to look at his tactics and personnel or things won’t change any time soon.

“If I was being asked to do that, I’d have to sit down with the boss after the game against Palace and say I’m not really sure I completely believe in this because I’m out on my feet here – as the Leeds players were in that match.

“They were broken down. It was fascinating to commentate on and fascinating to watch but, actually, it wasn’t a winning formula. I don’t know if there has to be a plan B. I think it’s a case of needing a bit more restraint.”

Bielsa has a big decision to make this weekend in terms of his defence. Diego Llorente was signed in the summer but has yet to make an impact, while Robin Koch has struggled at times.

Liam Cooper is a mainstay, although he is another who has struggled at Premier League level thus far.

Pundits will always have their say. It’s their job after all so it’s little wonder to see Keown – a former defender – taking aim at the defensive qualities Leeds have been showing (or lacking).

You get the feeling the game with Arsenal is a big one for the Whites. They’ll be desperate to stop the run they’re on and get back to winning ways against Mikel Arteta’s men.
