Brody Paterson confirms new Celtic contract on Twitter, fans respond

Brody Paterson has confirmed that he has agreed a new three-year contract at Celtic, becoming the second teenage talent to agree new terms with the Scottish champions – and fans have responded to his Tweet.

Paterson, 19, has agreed a new contract after he was due to enter the final 12 months of his previous deal. The winger has appeared twice on the substitutes’ bench during the reserve team’s Challenge Cup outings back in August.

It is clear that Neil Lennon and the Celtic board are using lockdown to tie down the futures of their up-and-coming talents, with Paterson the second teenage star to agree terms this week. Goalkeeper Ryan Mullen also put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

Paterson posted on Twitter after agreeing a new three-year deal, just days after Celtic had been awarded their ninth consecutive Scottish Premiership title. He uploaded a picture and underlined his delight to agree new terms.

Paterson has plenty of talent ahead of him, with James Forrest and Mo Elyounoussi first choice. Lennon stated this week that he would do everything he can to keep the latter on a permanent basis.

The hard work has certainly started now for Paterson, though he has been given plenty of time to break into the senior side. Many Celtic supporters reacted to his Tweet, congratulating the young winger.
