Leeds United defeated Bristol City 1-0 last weekend to get their Championship promotion campaign back on track.
Leeds dominated the game and it would have been a far bigger scoreline had Daniel Bentley not thrived in the Bristol goalmouth.
Bristol City boss Lee Johnson, who is not exactly popular with Leeds United fans, has since been speaking about the game.
As quoted by Bristol Live, Johnson admitted his team have some ‘soul searching’ to do as he wants the Robins to impose their footballing identity on teams in the way Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United do.
“In terms of the Leeds game, it hasn’t really changed on review from what I saw. I was disappointed, I didn’t feel we showed anywhere near enough of our identity.
“It bugged me to be honest. You’ve got to give credit to Leeds because they not only stifled us but they played to their identity extremely well and that’s something we’ve got to soul search and make sure that we get right for this game on Saturday.”
Leeds United certainly have a great recent record against Bristol City and Johnson, especially under Bielsa. The Argentine holds a 100 per cent record against the West Country outfit.
It also shows how Leeds have been the most consistent team in the Championship for the past two seasons, and other teams are hoping to emulate them.
Leeds fans will no doubt be hoping that Bristol City can impose their will on their weekend opponents, promotion rivals West Brom, as Leeds hope to keep the pressure on the Championship leaders.
