Tottenham winger Lucas Moura has admitted that he is planning on returning to Sao Paulo following his tenth year in Europe.
In an interview with ESPN Brazil, the Spurs attacker revealed that he always intended on returning home once he had played ten years of top-level football in Europe.
Lucas left Sao Paulo in 2013 to sign for PSG before making the move to Tottenham in 2018 for a reported fee of £23m. The 29-year-old forward has been a regular fixture in the Spurs squad since his arrival.

Indeed, his hat-trick against Ajax in the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League semi-final is one of the most iconic moments in Tottenham’s recent history. And Lucas already has plans to return home to Sao Paulo.
The attacker said: “It’s in my plans to go back to Brazil, back to Sao Paulo. I never hid it from anyone, I never hid the affection and love I feel for Sao Paulo.
“When I left Sao Paulo I said I wanted to stay for 10 years in Europe. Come rain, come shine, my goal, my plan is to stay 10 years.”

Indeed, the comments came as a surprise to some Spurs fans on social media. But a few supporters understood that why Lucas wanted to move back to Sao Paulo.
