Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after former Academy striker Jack Roles scored against Arsenal while playing for Crystal Palace.
What’s the story?
Well, the 22-year-old is currently on trial at Crystal Palace, after being released by Tottenham at the end of last season.
In his Premier League 2 debut for the south Londoners, Roles scored in the 4-2 defeat against Arsenal yesterday.
After full-time, the striker hopped onto Twitter to aim a dig at the Gunners.
Understandably, Tottenham fans loved this from Roles.
It shows that he still holds Spurs close to his heart, despite his release from the north Londoners earlier this year.
Why didn’t Jack Roles make it at Tottenham?

In truth, we’re not quite sure why Roles didn’t make it in N17.
The 6-cap Cyprus Under-21 international has a fine goalscoring record at youth level for Spurs, netting 16 goals in 23 games at Under-18 level.
At Under-23 level, Roles also has a respectable record with 12 goals in 33 games.

In our view, Tottenham gave up on Roles because of his age. At 22, he should be seeing regular senior action, rather than Academy football.
Nevertheless, he’s clearly a fan favourite judging by the reaction to his tweet.
Let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying…
