‘Brilliant’: Some fans react as player Lennon wants to keep at Celtic reportedly in talks with their club

In wake of the report linking Craig Gordon – whose Celtic contract has expired – with St Mirren, a number of their fans have been having their say on Twitter.

According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic boss Neil Lennon wants the 37-year-old to remain part of his squad for next season.

The report claims that the offer on the table for Gordon is on much-reduced wages to the figure he’s been on for the past six years at Celtic.

However, St Mirren are also reportedly trying to sign the Scotland international, the Buddies having just lost Vaclav Hladky on a free transfer.

The outlet claims Jim Goodwin has made a strong pitch to lure Gordon to Paisley, with the promise of guaranteed first-team Scottish Premiership football.

Gordon’s priority is regular top-team football, as he sets his sights on a recall to the national side.

However, the Saints can’t compete with the financial terms tabled by the champions, added the report.
