Martin Odegaard impresses with superb passing v Wolves

Speaking about Odegaard and the outside of foot passes he kept producing, Groves admitted he felt the captain was back to his best.

“Arsenal for the first 20, 25 minutes yesterday were back to their fluid best of last season. Odegaard looked back to his best, I know he got his brilliant goal which was a fantastic team move but some of his through balls with the outside of his left foot where he released Nketiah and Trossard,” Groves said.

A quality player

When you look at the fact Arsenal paid just £30m for Martin Odegaard, it’s going to go down as one of the biggest bargain signings of the last few seasons.

Odegaard has been nothing short of sensational for the Gunners and Groves’ comments on his passing here are bang on.

The midfielder seems to have a knack of producing moments of brilliance and he is so, so crucial to this Arsenal team having success this season.

If he can get back to his best and do what he did last season, then Odegaard might well end up being the man who lifts the Premier League trophy come May.
