A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been commenting on Twitter about Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s performance for Southampton on Friday night.
Bleacher Report claimed earlier this month that, although Spurs are having a rethink over their summer transfer plans in wake of current events, the Saints man – who was linked with the North Londoners back in January – remains a key target.
Prior to Southampton’s return to Premier League action, the £35million-rated midfielder was stripped of the captaincy at St Mary’s, leading to increased speculation about his future.

Despite losing the armband, Hojbjerg started for Saints away at Norwich City on Friday evening and put in an impressive performance as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s charges ran out 3-0 winners.
The Denmark international looked comfortable and composed in the centre of the park, covering every blade of grass in front of his defence, and if he was unsettled, he certainly didn’t show it.
Here is what some Spurs fans said on Twitter about the player’s display, with input from Southampton supporters too:
Hojbjerg previously played under Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich, winning the Champions League and four Bundesliga titles, before joining the Saints in the summer of 2016 for a reported £12.8million (BBC Sport).
The 24-year-old, whose £50,000-a-week contract expires in 2021, has made 130 appearances for the south coast side, scoring five goals and registering six assists (Transfermarkt).
