Although Arsenal fans will be hanging on for the announcement of a new signing before next week’s deadline, it seems one player could now depart.
Mikel Arteta’s side were always set for a quiet January window as a result of their FFP parameters.

However, fans may have hoped that the club would have sanctioned at least one move by now, perhaps the addition of a versatile defender to provide cover on a short-term basis.
Instead, it does seem as if Arsenal may conclude January without strengthening their squad – a decision that probably stretches back to the summer.
Big outlays for Declan Rice and Kai Havertz meant the club were always going to be limited mid-season, and we’re now enduring that lull.
That all being said, it seems the club are still keen to move players on both permanently and on loan before January ends.
Perhaps Cedric Soares and Nuno Tavares could leave Arsenal on a permanent basis before next week’s deadline.
And it now seems as if youngster Charles Sagoe Jr could embark on his first loan move away from the club, too.
Charles Sagoe Jr set to leave Arsenal on loan before next week’s deadine
According to Jeorge Bird, who shared the news yesterday, 19-year-old Sagoe Jr was withdrawn from the Arsenal under-21 squad to face Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.
The ‘brilliant’ winger is now expected to leave on a short-term loan in the coming days, perhaps until the end of the season.

According to the report, Sagoe Jr is the only academy player to make any competitive minutes for Arsenal’s first team this season.
Although the likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Lino Sousa have regularly made Arteta’s bench, neither have got the nod just yet.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see what level Arsenal will send Sagoe Jr on loan to, a player who has made a lot of progress this season.
The winger has often worn the captain’s armband for Mehmet Ali’s side this season, and it now seems as if he’s ready for a bigger challenge.
Sagoe Jr is yet to leave the club on loan so far in his career, meaning this will represent a new chapter.
All that being said, it seems Arsenal are now turning their eye to another top English talent before next week’s deadline.
