Just a few months ago, it looked as though Arsenal were getting ready to part company with Calum Chambers.
The 26-year-old joined the Gunners from Southampton in 2016, making the move for a reported £16million, and has made 115 appearances for the club.
Sadly, Chambers missed out on the whole of 2020 due to a cruciate ligament injury, which came just as he was getting his Gunners career back on track.

In January, the Daily Star reported that Arsenal were willing to move Chambers on, but he stayed put in the end.
Chambers is now back in Mikel Arteta’s plans, having featured in eight of Arsenal’s last 10 Premier League games, as well as six in the Europa League.
A centre-back by trade, Chambers has been deployed at right-back by Arteta to great effect over the past few months.
And according to football.london, Arsenal are set to award him with a contract extension beyond 2022, the year his current deal ends.
Gunners legend Ian Wright had very kind words for the versatile defender following Arsenal’s 3-3 draw with West Ham in March.
“We’re talking about somebody who’s not long come back from an ACL and that is tough to come back from that kind of injury, he’s been working hard,” he told Premier League Productions, via Metro.
“What’s great about Mikel Arteta is that he will give you a chance, he’s given him a chance. The Burnley game he was brilliant, same thing with this game he’s come in, he’s staking a claim.
“That’s what Arsenal need, they need that kind of player in the backup position who will come in and do a job like that, brilliant today.”
And with Hector Bellerin heavily linked with a summer move, there’s a good chance Chambers may have played his way into a regular starting XI position next season.
