‘Brightest spot of the day’: Some Leeds fans hail outfield player’s display v Brighton

A number of Leeds United fans have praised Tyler Roberts for his display in Saturday’s Premier League stalemate at Brighton.

The Whites were lucky to come away from the game with a point in what was an uninspired performance from Marcelo Bielsa’s charges.

Leeds’ opponents dominated proceedings for most of the match, and the Elland Road outfit had Illan Meslier to thank for keeping them in the game.

The Leeds goalkeeper made a superb first-half save to deny Leandro Trossard and was equal to all that came towards him.

In terms of outfield players, there wasn’t much to choose from, as most of the Leeds contingent disappointed.

However, Roberts was very much his side’s brightest spark after he came on in the 63rd minute for Jack Harrison.

The 22-year-old forced several good saves from the opposition goalkeeper and carried some threat when Leeds went forward.

Roberts has often split opinion amongst the Elland Road faithful, but many were pleased with his display at the Amex.
