Nathan Redmond completed 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup win over Everton on Tuesday night – and some Southampton supporters on Twitter praised the attacker for his performance.
The Saints progressed in the cup after beating Everton 4-3 on penalties at Goodison Park, while the teams were locked together at 1-1 after normal time.
Danny Ings had put the visitors in front to continue his good form, but a late Theo Walcott goal ultimately sent the match the distance to penalties.
Mark Hughes’ side are struggling at 16th in the Premier League table, but are showing some encouragement in the cup and will face Leicester City in the next round.

Redmond is one of the players that has thrived in the cup and now has two assists in the competition, as he set up Ings’ goal in midweek.
The 24-year-old winger has brilliant pace and trickery that makes him a nightmare for full-backs to deal with.
But he is still waiting for his first goal of the campaign and just needs to sharpen up in the final third to take his game to the next level.
A selection of Saints fans on social media were raving about Redmond’s efforts away to Everton and feel that he’s in great form right now at the beginning of the season.
