Brentford could now target ‘extraordinary’ £21.5m Arsenal player after already making Nketiah enquiry

Brentford are interested in Jakub Kiwior, but Arsenal remain determined to keep the Poland international beyond the January transfer window.

Jakub Kiwior is attracting a lot of interest ahead of next month’s window. The Poland international has struggled for minutes ever since his move to the Emirates. And Kiwior has not been overly impressive when he has played.

His previous form with Spezia appears to remain fresh in the mind of a host of Serie A sides. Calciomercato. It is reporting that AC Milan, Napoli, Lazio and Roma have all asked about the centre-back ahead of January.

But there is also interest from Arsenal’s Premier League rivals, with Brentford keen on the 23-year-old.

Brentford eyeing Jakub Kiwior

Arsenal however, have no intention of letting Kiwior leave during the window. And thus, they have rejected every enquiry which has come in for the youngster.

Kiwior has struggled for minutes this season. But he has been named in every single match day squad in the Premier League by Mikel Arteta.

So the Arsenal boss is understandably wary of leaving himself short at the back for the remainder of the campaign. Obviously, the Gunners lost William Saliba to injury for the final months of last season.

The Bees may have reason to not throw in the towel, however.

Gunners could yet be tempted by chance to cash in

Arsenal want another striker next month. But having invested heavily in the squad over the last few years, there may not be a huge amount left in the budget.

Brentford have already enquired about Eddie Nketiah in the last few weeks. And Kiwior is another player who could potentially net Arsenal a decent transfer fee while also not weakening Arteta’s strongest lineup by departing.

The Gunners spent £21.5 million on the ‘amazing‘ defender. So if they get the opportunity to make a decent profit, and it helps in their quest to sign another goalscorer, perhaps Arsenal’s stance could yet change over the coming weeks.
