It is reported that Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City could be interested in signing Celtic strike sensation Odsonne Edouard this summer.
The Sun is suggesting that the Leicester boss ‘would love’ to sign the player who he initially took to Celtic back in 2017.
The recent winner of the SWFA Player of the Year, Edouard had a stunning campaign last season, scoring 33 goals in 49 games for Celtic and the France under-21s.
Rodgers would, therefore, be more than willing to sign the 22-year-old, who is valued at £30 million by his former club.
It is suggested that Rodgers could even sell Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho, a £25 million recruit (ESPN) from Manchester City in 2017 to make the deal possible.
Rodgers was always a massive fan of the striker. Speaking to The Scotsman in 2018, he labelled him a bargain signing for Celtic and suggested he often found himself applauding the striker in training for some of his play.
“For us to get him for the money we did was a snip, really. Huge talent. Some of the things he does every day I find myself applauding due to the sheer quality that he possesses, which is incredible.”
Celtic fans will undoubtedly be left bitterly disappointed if their former manager does come along and steal away their star man.
But it seems, financially, there is still a long way to go before that is a possibility for The Foxes.
